You may find yourselves having the same arguments again and again, struggling to communicate without becoming defensive, feeling more like housemates than partners, or wondering how you became so emotionally disconnected.
Perhaps trust has been shaken by a betrayal, you’re adjusting to becoming parents, navigating the impact of anxiety, ADHD or past experiences on your relationship, or you’ve simply drifted apart over time.
Whatever has brought you here, couples therapy offers a calm, balanced and supportive space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Rather than focusing on blame, we’ll work together to explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, improve communication and help you reconnect in a way that feels meaningful and lasting.
I provide couples therapy and relationship counselling in Uxbridge, Gerrards Cross and online, supporting couples who want to strengthen their relationship, rebuild trust and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.
Is couples therapy right for us?
You don’t have to be on the verge of separation to benefit from couples therapy.
Many couples seek support because they want to strengthen their relationship before difficulties become overwhelming. Others reach out because communication has broken down, trust has been damaged or they simply don’t know how to move forward together.
You may recognise some of the following:
-
Frequent arguments that never seem to reach a resolution.
-
Feeling emotionally distant or disconnected.
-
Struggling to communicate openly without conflict.
-
Feeling unheard, misunderstood or criticised.
-
A loss of emotional or physical intimacy.
-
Rebuilding trust following betrayal or infidelity.
-
The impact of anxiety, ADHD, neurodiversity or past family experiences on your relationship.
-
Navigating life transitions such as becoming parents, career changes, retirement or children leaving home.
Whatever your circumstances, my role is to help both of you feel equally heard, understood and respected while working towards a deeper understanding of one another.
My Approach to Couples Therapy
Every relationship develops patterns. Some help us feel close and secure, while others can leave us feeling frustrated, lonely or misunderstood.
Rather than focusing solely on the latest disagreement, we’ll explore the deeper patterns that keep the same difficulties repeating.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on attachment theory, relational trauma and nervous system awareness to help couples understand how past experiences, stress and emotional responses influence the way they communicate and connect today.
This isn’t about deciding who is right or wrong. It’s about creating a space where both partners can feel safe enough to be heard, understood and curious about each other’s experience.
Together, we’ll develop practical ways of responding differently, helping you move away from reactive cycles towards a relationship built on greater understanding, trust and emotional connection.
